Lightly edited transcript for Class 4 Presentation
Genoa: “I’d like to chime in here a little bit to say how on time our discussion is here. We’ve been covering all the centers and there’s a certain point that arrives when we need to speak about Authority, which is in fact our topic of today beyond the Throat center, of course. And then we move into Authority and how Authority works.
And of course the answer to our question, what do we surrender to? It’s a huge question, and within the Human Design we learn to surrender to our Authority, whatever it is, and that in most instances, 97% of the people in the world, something like that — is an Inner Authority Center.
So we learn to cultivate our relationship with that Center, to deepen that Center and to see how it represents us very accurately in the world. And from there, we can deal with and relate to our Openness because that Authority makes decisions about the challenges that come to us through our Open Centers.
Here we are, we have these open Centers, and of course that’s where we encounter other people. And it’s not just open Centers, of course, it’s open channels, it’s open potentials. There’s Openness throughout our whole design. We encounter our challenges there and we make decisions about those challenges, and that’s specifically how we become wise within our Openness, where we truly get to learn. And that’s lightly said sometimes, but it is an awe-inspiring experience.
I had four children. As a manifestor, it was very difficult for me because I was terrified. Terrified. My Spleen was terrified by this experience. I. And yet this experience and my relationship with my children, each one of them over many years, and they were homeschooled, so I was very, very close to them. Those became the most meaningful experiences of my life.
And just to tell a little bit of a story here, I was in California because I had these businesses and I sold one of my businesses to a large corporation, and they flew me back to California where I’d met my partner that I had children with and they flew me back to the exact town where my relationship with this mother of my four children began.
And I’m out there on one of the bluffs where the ocean wind is blowing and I’m sitting there and I’d just come into contact with Human Design and suddenly I went, “Oh my God, what have I been doing?” It was like waking up from this giant dream, this huge dream. And I’m going like, “Yeah but those are the most meaningful experiences of my life. What are you talking about?” It was really a shocking moment and I’m sitting there very, very confused and it took me many years of Human Design to understand that I could have done all of those things, all of those things that I had lived out as myself, that I could have been completely honest about who I was, how I felt, what my truth was, what I needed to express, and exactly how I needed to participate in that situation and what I was waking up to in that moment is that there was this deep happening that had quote ‘happened to me’, supposedly, dragged down that path. But what I was also doing was discovering the Sacral Center. The guy who wrote that piece about the Sacral Center, that was me, and what I learned about the life force is breathtaking. Awesome. Something came into my life that could never have been within me.
Wow. And that was the first big gigantic step — to realize that my Spleen could have been truthful in every step of the way. I could have informed every step of the way. Then, everyone in my life could have known who I was and what my needs were, and I could have been speaking about that and revealing myself all the way along the way.
And I had to go, for the first however many years that was, I was not doing that, but did I start doing that? Yes. Yes, I did. And it changed my life completely. And so, I could truly truly come to understand the joys of connecting with the Sacral Center and learning from it through the life force itself.
Wow. And then the Solar Plexus comes along and I learned about that. So this is what Authority does for us. We have this point from which, if we have Inner Authority, this point from which we make our decisions, and then that enables us to open up these realms.
And of course, here in the Living Design class, we’re working within certain limitations because this is LYD. And LYD is about Centers. It’s not about channels, it’s not about gates. It’s fine for us to talk about them here. And nobody’s stopping you from finding out about them. That’s the rich journey of Human Design, which you can undertake, in entirely your own way. But we’re speaking about it in terms of this, in this case, of the Spleen and its instinctual desire to take responsibility and the weight of that responsibility.
And suddenly there were four children in my life like, whoa. Unbelievably intense ; Boy, that is the richness of life itself. So how can you say, “oh, I really shouldn’t have done that?” That’s just above our pay grade folks. That’s our mind going : “what should I be, what should I do? Is it okay for me to do this or to do that?”
Life happens and we have an Authority to deal with it. And this is true of course, of people with Outer Authority as well. They just do it in a different way. And it’s very important for us to speak about that, leading into our Type Determination and so on. Boy, are we so on time to be talking about the need to understand surrendering to Authority and how it works?
So with that, I’ll close up here.”
Mid-class break
Genoa :”We really want you to be delving into writing about your Authority Center because it is so important and how all of this works and that business that I was just speaking about of surrendering to your Authority. It’s very important to say that most people have an Inner Authority Center, but not everyone does.
And most of the language that’s been developed in Human Design was for people who have a defined Inner Authority Center. That, of course, is understandable because it was Ra’s job to serve the majority of people and try to get this message out to as many people as possible. But at this point in our journey, we really need to recoup and come back around to developing language for what it means to not have an Inner Authority Center, and in fact, what does Openness actually mean?
I’ve been touching on that subject several times, and it’s rather simple to talk about it when we have an Inner Authority Center because with that Inner Authority Center, we’re making decisions about what happens within our Openness. In our Fireside Chat, we heard extensively about the Mental Projector.
And the Mental Projector is somebody who has definition to the Ajna Center above the Throat. And this is an Authority which is here in the world for other people — to serve other people, to become useful for other people. And everything below the Throat in that design is open. And so it has been this big dilemma in human design.
How do we talk about Mental Projectors? Because none of our language is really attuned to this. And Ra worked on this toward the end of his life quite a bit more because that’s where he was heading when unfortunately he died at a young age, at 62. Ra and I were born thhe same year, and it has been many years since Ra passed away.
I wore black for seven years after my father died and I wore black for seven years after Ra died. I’m sure there are a few pictures that belie that generalization, but generally speaking, I had a very somber mood about the fact that we lost Ra prematurely. He asked us to fill in and to really work to finish his work, and that’s part of what we’re doing here.
When we talk about Mental Projectors, we see these two Centers at the top of the chart, and you remember our journey into them, which was very deep and very unusual. We talked about the Head Center as being this Center or the seat of our consciously aware intelligence and its representation of our eternal existence: Who we were and who we have been since the beginning of time, and the education that we have received. In whatever way you care to imagine that that education occurred, we enter this life with certain ideals that we want to live out. And then, of course, we’re here in the world and we’re between the Spleen and the Solar Plexus, the past and the future, the skepticism of the Spleen and the hopeful resonance with the future that the Solar Plexus has. And the Ajna Center is here, watching that tennis match between these two sides of the bilateral symmetry of our body and comparing the two and eventually leaping to new understandings, a mutation of the mind — the mind can change on a fundamental level. And yet we need each one of these points of view, the Spleen, the Solar Plexus, and the Ajna Center to work it out with each other as a synergy within our process.
Then we add this other Center here, this Head Center, with all of its pressure, all of this intense pressure on the Ajna Center, to find some way for it to live out its aspirations, its evolution, its expectation that life will be meaningful. And as a result of that pressure, the Ajna Center connected you up with the world of Nature, with the world of Evolution, with the world that progresses over time through trial and error to find a way, as Evolution always does.
It compressed all of those connections, particularly those ones that are related to your attitude about living — into a packet within itself. This Design Consciousness that is so connected to the Earth, that is so connected to the world of Nature, tha is so connected to the fact that life evolves. And it made this connected web of expectations that then drops into the G-center and goes to land on gate 2, the most yin of all of the Hexagrams, which operates as a magnetic force that draws your life and all of those plans in through your Open Centers — to confront you, to give you those situations that you need to make decisions about, that you need to confront, that you need to somehow solve to at least make your way through, to navigate through the world on an energetic leve. And there’s one very important fact here that’s illustrated by this slide is that it skips the Throat. You can see this line, this arrow that’s going down, it goes behind the Throat and it drops directly into the G center. And into this magnetic force that draws your world in.
Those people that you encounter.” Oh, these people aren’t my parents. What does that mean? Here are all these people, all their expectations, all of their cultural behaviors, all of whatever is happening in that situation. Many of us were born in medical situations and we’re surrounded with people who have their medical concerns, which are quite deep.
I mean, birth is a life and death transition or a death-to-life transition, depending upon how you look at it. But it is an extremely dire and actually quite dangerous situation. Terrifying actually, at least for me, as a Manifestor.
This dropping of that design packet to Gate 2 is doing something very specific, which is transferring those ideals and that evolutionary potential directly below the Throat, into the body.
And it’s turning it over to the body-mind, and specifically how the body-mind functions and how it has Authority. Whether you have Inner Authority or you have Outer Authority that comes in a different way through the configuration of your design. Your design has Authority. It makes decisions in a very, very specific way.
Human Design is about, first of all: how do you learn? How does that Authority actually work? What is its modality? As we’ve gone through each of the Centers, we’ve striven to see those Centers, not just from the point of view of the Spleen. Now the Spleen sees the world in terms of Strategy.
Okay, so you have this energetic configuration, you know, yes, this is what it looks like, this is how it works, and it has a formula which is about Strategy. Okay? So how do you deal with this body of yours and its configuration? That’s why the person in this picture faces to the left. As we look at the person; it’s actually the person’s right.
But as we look at it, it appears as though it’s looking to the left. It’s facing the Spleen. And the Spleen is the foundation of how we transfer knowledge from one person to another. We do that through logic. And so the Human Design System is a very, very logical system. The bodygraph itself has its own logic of how it works, and this is the teaching of Ra Uru Hu, a strict adherence to the logic of the Spleen, and giving you a practical strategic way of dealing with the configuration of your Design.
Now, we’ve taken the time over the last three weeks and now taking the time in the fourth week to go over each of these Centers, not in terms of just the way the Spleen sees it, but how does that Center see itself? What is its actual mode of operation? How does it work? What are its priorities? How does it see the process of making decisions? So this is the most conspicuous as we look at the Solar Plexus, which is the Center that asks “What are you talking about? Life is not about Strategy. Life is about Relationship. Life is about interaction. Life is about learning. Life is about taking a step from the Present into the Future. The Future is this potential that we’re moving toward and we’re inventing new ways of living.
And the Spleen says, “yeah, yeah, okay, fine, whatever.” But the strategic way to look at the Solar Plexus is it’s going through a process and after a few days, maybe it’ll get clear enough.
You know, the Spleen’s looking. “Yeah, it’s clear enough. Okay. Now go ahead and make your decision.” Well, that is a very strategic way of looking at it. It’s a very logical way of looking at it. And “Congratulations.” It’s actually very important, very important that we have a strategic way of dealing with our Design and how it’s configured.
But that’s not the whole story, because in order to actually make decisions with your Solar Plexus, you probably need more than a few days. And you probably need a point of view on encompassing relationship that goes beyond “no truth in the now”. No, you need to say “this is a relationship. It’s actually very important to me, and I see that it’s progressing and I need to go through my hope and my pain in order to grow enough in order to encompass this relationship and stick with it and see how it develops. And by the way, on a practical level, I do need to know when I’m clear enough,” and that’s one capability of the Solar Plexus that no other Center has — To know when it’s clear enough. Is it a 100% clear? Only when the relationship fails and it no longer changes, only then will the Solar Plexus move on. Because of that deep tragedy that it feels, that sorrow, that it feels… that it can’t further the relationship because the partner refuses to change or they’ve run into a block that they’re not ready to move through.
Now this slide here, showing this arrow coming up from the Sacral Center toward the gate 2 and toward the Magnetic Monopole is yet another story that we need to talk about, and that is that gate 2 needs to be empowered. And this leads to a sequence of slides here that outlines an Archetypal Process that underlies every single Design, whether it’s Inner Authority, whether it’s Outer authority, whether the Authority is the Spleen, or the Solar Plexus, or the Ego.
Regardless of what the Authority is, there is an underlying archetypal process. Now we’ve been dealing with the bodygraph in an archetypal way. Not about you exactly, but about the bodygraph and about the Centers, the nine Centers. And each one of us has those nine Centers, and it’s important to know how they operate, what their modality is, and what their priorities are. Because that’s how we develop the felt sense for what they are and learn to perceive their presence and their activity in our lives. And that becomes particularly important if you become a Human Design Professional and where you might become something like a Human Design Coach, where you’re guiding people through their lives and you need to listen to them and to be able to sense the different Centers in them as you listen to them. “Oh, now I’m listening to their Solar Plexus speaking. Now I’m listening to the Root speaking. Now I’m listening to the Sacral Center speaking,” but behind all of the archetypal thing is YOU, and this is where we need to arrive first at an Authority determination, which we will speak about today, and then next week Type Determination.
In Type Determination, we’re gonna go a little bit further because there’s a place where Strategy and Authority bond into creating what we call divisional charts. And depending upon how you look at it, there’s anywhere from 11 to 16 different divisional charts, and we’ll be dividing all of your charts into those 16 categories to give us a way of speaking about your Design in a very specific way.
But we need to cover the fact that the Magnetic Monopole needs to be empowered. And it is the Sacral Center that empowers it from Gate 14: The power to be powerful. It’s the energy to retain your energy until the moment when you activate that empowerment to activate the G Center. And this places both the Sacral center and the G-center right in the middle of the archetypal functioning of the Human Design bodygraph.
In other words, the G center, the Higher Self, which we spoke about in terms of its symmetry, its capacity to organize and to center you within the world, whether it’s defined or not. Archetypically behind all of this, the G Center is the center of everything. Who you are as a person. And where you are going as a person.
So you can see as the energy comes up from the Sacral Center and from the Root Center to the Sacral Center, it empowers you as a mutant being — a being who is unique in the world, and that being needs to come to expression within this world in order that you can fulfill your life purpose. That means you need to be able to deal with Openness and make decisions about it through your Authority in order to be able to express yourself as an individual, unique person, to have your life path and to fulfill your Incarnation Cross, and to fulfill your purpose for being in the world.
So we see these potentials sticking out from the G center. It’s been empowered. It’s now filled with the energy coming up through the Root Center, the Sacral Center, and into the G center, and it’s reaching up to the Throat for expression. The gate of the leader, the gate of creativity, the gate of the listener, the gate that knows how to behave.
It’s reaching up and it wants to find expression. So it’s looking for specific things. It’s looking for the Throat gates that will connect with this G center. And from this we get a story — of why we’re here in the world to awaken and commit to Higher Principles. This is true of everyone. At least according to the Human Design system: recognition and awareness in the now that transforms understanding into right action: Gate 33. The prodigal, the design of a witness — to be able to witness life, to be able to listen and to know what to say. As a result of listening, how to reflect what other people are feeling, active withdrawal, and the transformation of a weak position into strength. This is something that we all need to learn to do and remember, your Authority is supporting this process. This is what it is.
There is actually a goal to all of this: Inspiration, to be the creative role model, the basic worth realized and contributing individual efforts to group goals.
The Alpha, the Design of leadership, the law of friction, whether active or passive that engenders, transference and thus influence. Yes, of course, our Higher Self leads us to want to influence other people.
Awakening to higher principles, being a witness, a respectful witness to transform a weak position into strength.
Basic worth realized in contributing individual efforts to group goals and to lead, to go forward. This is an archetypal process. So if you have a Splenic Authority, your Spleen is aware of this and it’s making decisions in order that you can fulfill these goals. If you have a Solar Plexus definition and Authority, therefore, the Solar Plexus is working with this archetypal process behind the scenes in order that you are able to fulfill these goals.
This solves a lot of mysteries in terms of looking at Human Design charts. Because you know that there is this thrust behind it — that you are born into the world and you are destined to fulfill your life purpose, which is quite specific. It’s important to say that this operates through the archetypal energetics of the bodygraph as a whole. It all fits together, — to indicate that even if you’re a Reflector and you have no defined Centers within your Design, that configuration strives in the same way as all other living beings in this hope that we will get to live out Higher Self roles.
So let’s go back to the Throat center. The Throat Center is where we confront the outer world, where we come right up against the fact that we have an inner private world. We have our own truth; we have the world that is ours inside, and suddenly we come to this threshold where we need to connect with and we need to express ourselves with other people. We also need to learn to listen as we were just talking about. We need to understand that there are certain conditions upon which we will be able to fulfill our individual roles and be able to contribute to the whole — to lead and to behave and to awaken to Higher Principles. There we are right on this threshold.
Some of us remember learning how to speak and what that was like when you finally learned how to put sentences together and you actually have something to say and you wanna say it, and it’s very difficult for that little child to speak up and be taken seriously. Or to find a place within this wall-to-wall conversation that these dominant adults are having.
You can’t fit a piece of paper in edgeways in there. You try to speak up. It doesn’t really work. Nobody’s listening.”Aren’t they cute?” All those things we go through as children. So when we’re talking about the Throat center, we’re going back to those very tender times when we first learned to speak and how successful that was or not — how difficult it was for for us.
Even if we were very loquacious as I was as a child, “blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.” Things haven’t changed a bit and you know, I had a lot to say, but was anybody listening?
My sister went away to college and she came back for Thanksgiving, and we’re sitting at the Thanksgiving table table and I’m talking and wanting to bring things up and hear from other people, and my sister suddenly thrusts herself back in her chair and she says, “uh, oh my God, I forgot how much you talked.” And I thought: “Who me? I’m trying to get a response.”
As much as I spoke, I don’t remember a single response. Well, speaking all the time is not necessarily the most effective way of getting responses. The life of a Manifestor impacting other people, so they become more and more silent. Well, it took Human Design to learn that lesson. Let me tell you.
And so this Throat brings us to this threshold where we need to be honest, we need to speak our truth, but we also need to listen. So the Throat not only speaks and acts, but it also needs to listen. And it can do both, but not at the same time.
Interesting. Listening makes talking much easier. Because you know who you’re talking to. The most powerful way to establish rapport with other people is to listen to them. And once you have that rapport and you know them a little bit, then maybe you can ask some very poignant questions. Because through Human Design, you’ve learned to sense the flow of energy within them.
You’ve learned to see how they are in many ways living their Design. Quite honestly, they wouldn’t be alive if they weren’t, but you can also see how they’re working at cross-purposes to themselves because of all those things they’ve been told or of those ways they’re supposed to be. All those things they ‘should know.”
So we’re doing both all the time. We’re living our Design, and we’re working at cross-purposes to ourselves. That doesn’t go away, folks, but we do get better and better at the Living Your Design part, and that puts the part that was working at cross-purposes to ourselves in the position of being a witness.
A witness to this process of transferring our trust from our mental vehicles and thinking that our mental vehicles can serve us to figure out what we’re supposed to do — to the body-mind intelligence that knows what we are going to do and what works best for us. We see this migration start to take place between doing what we think we should do, to doing what we know we must do, or be or say, if we’re going to be honest.
So the Throat, not only is this threshold between your personal world, and this external world where you let other people know who you are, how you feel, what you’re going through, what life is like for you — to express yourself to other people, for better or worse, to understand that, “ Oh,I can express myself with timing and tact.” Before we wait long enough, a space opens in that dominant conversation that surrounds me all the time.
Some people have listened way, way too much. They listen when they need to speak. Other people speak when they need to listen. This is a process through which we can enter into, and in fact, we kind of do, we kinda have to, we say things and we can see how effective they are.
Are we establishing rapport with other people or are we losing rapport with other people? Well, the truth is we gain rapport and we lose rapport in every conversation. Yeah. Every time we step out and we lead, we lose rapport. Every time we listen and we take in the other person, we gain rapport. We gradually master that process.
It’s almost like breathing, but this is the process through which we come in contact with and need to master our relationship with the outer world. And therefore you can see how the Throat Center is intimately connected to Strategy, Timing, and Tact.
So the first job of Strategy is to go inward, to find your Authority, to find out how it actually works in you because the things that we can say about your Authority, Inner or Outer, of course, are generalizations and your Authority works in a very specific way. It is quite amazing with time that it does align with this logical teaching of the Bodygraph and this outstanding work that Ra Uru Hu did to map this out on a logical level.
It’s kind of uncanny, but at the same time there’s this very specific way that your Authority functions. And so the first role of strategy is to go inward and investigate yourself. And then secondly is to come out into the world and to say something and to then reflect; you observe how it lands. It either lands or it doesn’t land. The timing was messy. It made other people feel uncomfortable. Nothing wrong with that, but this is a trial and error process, and the Throat Center is what brings us right to that threshold.
Your private world interfaces with the public world, but it’s not just that. It’s also who you have been and who you are inwardly, and your Authority and your personal truth, and who you will become in your relationships with other people as you learn to have good timing and tact, and how to maintain and develop rapport, how you can lose that rapport and regain it.
That’s one of the most extraordinary things about life is you are in this breathing process of trial and error and learning and refining your strategy so that it fits you like a glove or like a wetsuit tight to the skin, but it still lets other people in and your way of expressing yourself:, maintaining, losing and regaining rapport and who you’ll become as you learn to collaborate and cooperate with other people and to learn from them. We enter into this synergetic interaction with other people.
As we’ve studied the Centers, we realize each of those Centers is its own world. It sees the world from its point of view. The Spleen is skeptical; it’s like the old curmudgeon. Y”eah. Well I’ve seen this before. Never gonna do that again.”
Or it’s like awake. And being with the now, adapting to the Present and learning how to evolve in the present world or the Solar plexus within its world of relationships, the give and take, the agony and the ecstasy of being alive, of working with relationships and evolving through them. Each of them sees the world from its own point of view.
But let’s take a moment to think about what that means. It means that as it connects with another Center that sees the world from its point of view, that channel is establishing communication between two very distinct and different worlds. That channel is finding common ground between those two remarkably different realities.
It’s finding common ground. It’s establishing a working relationship. It’s finding a new synthesis it’s going beyond itself. It’s achieving another level of intelligence. This is what is miraculous about channels that they establish a synergetic process, which is based upon fundamental cooperation between two different energetic sources that are entirely different from each other, that learn how to work it out and if you have Inner Authority, that means that there’s a channel going to that particular center.
That cooperation and synergy, that higher level of synthesis that you can achieve through that channel is something that you bring into relationship with other people because when you encounter another person, they are unique and they are different from you. It is exactly the same process between you and another person that happens between you and that other Center within you that establishes your Authority.
And so for people with Inner Authority, there’s this synergy and synthesis and higher dimensional consciousness that you gradually learn to bring into your relationships with other people, and that is remarkable powerful and significant because that’s how you interact with other people, not by assuming that they’re similar to you, but by realizing that they’re categorically different from you and you’ve already understood that within yourself and overcome your Centers fighting with each other for prominence.
Now when we look at a Human Design chart, we see that there are certain priorities in all the ways that these different areas, and specifically if there’s an Inner Authority and there’s split definition and so on, there are very specific energetic priorities within that configuration. You learn about that and you learn how it works.
And you understand “this is something that’s happening inside of me”, and, and something comes outta that synthesis that is just extraordinary. And then you get to use that very same patience that you learn from inside of yourself, that awe that you can experience in going like, “oh my God, oh, I had no idea that this was happening inside of me. And that appreciation for diversity and difference is something that you learn to share with other people.
The Reflector, as an example, does that completely differently, and we will talk about the Reflector in some depth because it’s very important that we understand.
So moving along here, I have a feeling that things are going along fairly rapidly. Let me just say that this slide, which I’m showing you now, and I will make available to you through the documents within our learning management system. It gives you so many hints about all the circuits in the design and how they come to expression. Gate 8, I can … underneath that certain /uncertain gate, 20, I am now decisive./indecisive gate 62. I think reasonable unreasonable. And the voice that you’re listening to right now, I experiment. Gate 16. Approval / disapproval. We need all the skepticism of the Spleen. “Watch everything I say”… Gate 56, “I believe.” “Hope, despair.” We learn so much from this.
Please take it as writing prompts.
So now, let’s quickly go to the Descent of Authority. The first step in the descent is from the Throat center to the G-Center. This establishes G-Center Authority. This is always a Projector chart. They have to have at least one, if not, more channels defined from the G-Center to the Throat.
This authority has something to say, and they have the channel to say it with. This is the G Center guide. They embody those roles that we were speaking about earlier. Those Higher Self roles. They do this directly, so there’s no transfer from the Authority that’s doing its thing and showing you as a specific person. This is expressing the G Center. This is what it does.
And then further in the Descent of Authorities, we come to the Ego Authority. There are two kinds of Ego Authority. There’s Ego Manifested Authority, and there’s Ego Projected Authority. But in this case, we’re just looking at what is the Center that becomes the Authority, and they become the Authority In this specific order.
We go to Splenic Authority, and you can see this is called the Descent of Inner Authorities.
So they simply descend in a certain order.
From there, we go to Sacral Authority, and this is where the Sacral Center is operating from its own perspective, which is how I described it in the brief that you got to read. It sees the world in its own way, and it’s rather remarkable how the Sacral Center does see the world.
We heard a little bit about it from our sharings today, and then finally we go to the Solar Plexus. It’s a little funny because we’re talking about the Descent of Authorities, but the Solar Plexus takes it back up a notch. But at the same time, so much of our lives has to do with relationship and how our relationships go and how they develop, and our ability to be with them and to stick with the process, and so on and so forth.
This Authority is the most powerful Authority there is. All Authorities operate in relationship to this Solar Plexus Authority. But before I get too complex and, and confuse things too much, let’s have some respect for this Solar Plexus Authority and what it does and how it sees the world and what it can bring about. Because remember, the Solar Plexus is the most rapidly evolving center within the bodygraph. A whole other level of consciousness is coming into our species through this Center. Fundamentally, the ability to communicate and to go through what we need to do in order to communicate, and we can see how this is relating to what we’re talking about in terms of Centers communicating with each other. That process of finding common ground, establishing a working relationship, discovering the most fundamental levels of synthesis and connection — to synergize, and realize we are involved in a process where consciousness is evolving.
And eventually to leap to a higher synthesis, which we spoke about in terms of those Higher Self roles that stand behind the whole of the bodygraph in an energetic visualization, if you will, of how we can achieve our goals, which is to live out Higher Self roles in order to fulfill our life purpose. The Solar Plexus is about interaction.
Now, it doesn’t mean that even though this stands behind all of the Authorities; they’re all working towards this goal of learning synthesis and synergy and interaction, and how to respect ourselves as an individual person and how to truly respect the other person as a unique being.
I mean, if you think about it, what do unique beings have in common? Well, on a certain level in terms of our personal opinions and exactly who we are day to day, “nothing.” So if we’re unique, we can’t really know what motivates another person. In order to know that, we need to ask them. We need to interact with them. We need to find out who they are. We need to hear their story. It is so tempting, and this is what we spend a lot of our time doing as human beings, let’s be honest, is deciding that we know what motivates other people. Just imagine we’re gonna give that up. Really?
Yes, we are. Because that’s the evolution that we’re involved in to respect other people as unique individuals, to interact with them, to find out who they are. But, in order to do that, we need to respect ourselves as unique individuals. And this is what we can find out through the Human Design, what are we as unique individuals?
And so, as we go back up this chain, we can see that. The Sacral center is doing what? It’s learning all about that Solar Plexus. And if we go to the Splenic authority, what is it doing?
It’s learning about that Sacral, that Sacral world. And what does it do? Well, it creates Life. It has a great deal of energy. It’s very addictive. Oh, that sweet energy of the Solar Plexus. Oh. The addiction of it. Oh my God.
But as we master our Design and understand our Design from the point of view of our Authority, then we’re in a position to make decisions.
In my case, as an example, yes, that Sacral Center is really, really sweet and oh, what an addiction that can be. But in this situation, talking about a hypothetical situation: How much does it do with what? how much does it have to do with my instinctive ability to be intuitive and transmit on the wavelength to transmit on the wavelength and be able to communicate with other people and lead and bring truth to other people through insight? Does this situation have to do with that? Well, no. So. I snap back to the Authority and go, not right now, as interesting and addictive as the Sacral Center can be.
But that puts me in a position to learn about the Sacral Center and the Solar Plexus. And by the way, of course, the Root center. But if the Root center was defined, it’s pretty likely there’s a one in, there’s a two in three chance that the Sacral center or the Solar plexus would be defined.
So you begin to see how we begin to see charts in very, very specific ways. Splenic Authority is in a position where it needs to learn about the next Center down in the chain of command, so to speak. And so the Splenic Authority learns to serve in appropriate ways the Sacral Center and the Solar Plexus.
It learns how to initiate, in my case, and to inform, so that I can find a place on Planet Generator, some place to live. Wouldn’t that be nice? So your Authority is the last one in this Descent that is defined. If you have Inner Authority, as most of the people here do, of course it’s the one that’s furthest down in the chain. It’s very simple.
The one that you have that’s defined in this Descent of Authoritiies is your Authority. How your Inner Authority works. So at this point where you can pick that out quite easily. Probably already knew on some level. Then you can take up the wild-mind-writing about your Authority and go into that particular Center on a much, much deeper level, whichever one it is in this chain, and what is its point of view, and particularly what is its point of view about the next one down until you get to the Solar Plexus?
And then it’s the next one up, in the other direction.
So your writing assignment for this week is first of all to do a ten-minute write about your understanding of the particular Center that forms your Authority. And this of course includes our Mental Projectors because quite honestly—The Ajna is an Authority. It’s just not an Authority for making decisions.
It makes decisions as we heard in a fireside chat, through echo-location. That’s a very mysterious process, which we’ll speak much more about when we come to the 16, anywhere from 11 to 16 variations of what we call divisional charts. The combination of Type, Strategy and Authority that breaks charts out into more detail.
Now, the Mental Projector is one of those. The Reflector is another, and we’ll see how we all break out into those divisional charts where we can have much more specific conversations about how you make decisions and what is most important to make decisions about? What is that like? Who do you have in your life as a Manifester?
“Who have you had in your life who were Generators, Genoa?” My mother, my father, the person I married, the mother of my children, three of my children.” It gets pretty specific, pretty fast.
So, let’s do something like, let’s write about our Authority Center just in general, just to explore it. Maybe do two or three ten-minute writes. And again, that ten-minute write and the time-limit that we set ourselves. It’s not that we can’t set ourselves a twenty-minute wriite? Yeah. Still setting a limit, but that doesn’t really make something that we can read in class because it’s just too long for everybody to have a chance to express themselves.
But setting that ten-minute write gives us quite a bit of time.
I love that, that somebody’s said today: “I can’t believe the timer hasn’t gone off yet.” That’s when you know you’re really in it. It’s like, it seems like a long time. Let’s do some 10 minute writes on our Authority Center, and then there’s a couple of special things that I’d like you to do : take one additional 10 minute write, to write a letter to your Authority Center.
Whatever comes up for you. “Where were you when I needed you? Why didn’t you make yourself …” whatever, whatever’s provoking you, whatever complaint you may have. whatever inspiration, of course, we favor our inspirations and and so on, but if we’re really sober, you know, “where were you when I needed you?”
“Or what about that situation? Or what about that person who came into my life?“ ”did you get triggered? Was it that I just wasn’t listening?” Write a letter.
And then a second exercise. Please have your Authority Center write a letter to you.
A letter from you to your Authority Center, filled with praise or complaints, whatever it is. And then your Authority Center writing to you. I trust that in most cases, your Authority Center will have a lot of compassion for you.
Yeah, I’m quite sure of that actually. I mean, it’s here for you. Yeah, but let’s hear from it, anyway. Let’s see how this works. Okay, I hear people, needing to go to their next engagement, leaving the classroom. So let me wrap it up here. And if there’s any confusion, of course, about which is your Authority, please let us know.
But I think it’s probably pretty clear. And so we can go from there. And thank you. Thank you for being here. This is a very special possibility that we’re exploring here to explore our Human Designs, but also to give your voice to Human Design. It is so important that we add our voices at each step of the way.
Okay, so that’s it for now. And we will go from there. Thank you very much again for being here. And we put up this video within thirty-six hours. There’ll be a written piece that goes up at the same time for the Throat Center. And then, we’ll see each other again next week.
Looking forward.
Alrighty, let’s go from there. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Bye. Thanks for being here.
