The Spleen is an ancient Awareness Center that operates through deep body intelligence, keeping us safe and integrated into the world of nature, to ensure reliable health and well-being. It draws from eons of experiential learning and instinctual wisdom, now encoded in our genetic matrix, available now as immediate intuitions. It functions like a database with instantaneous recall. On a daily basis, the Spleen prefers purity, rejects pollution, and constantly evaluates situations from the perspective of survival. The Spleen is sober, caring, and relies upon reliable rhythms and proven methods. It is nurturing, particularly of the young and vulnerable, but also extends its protection to anyone present when danger is near.

Its deep intelligence is linked to the immune system, which has learned to exempt people from harm if possible, but failing that, will pitch a battle against invaders. It prefers returning to a foundational state of health wherever possible, letting the body heal itself naturally, but will also leap to any means available to preserve life as necessary.

Similarly, while it prefers traditional life-ways and values, it also values new inventions that will increase health and survival in the future. In this sense, it will oppose outdated or corrupt tribal laws when necessary, taking extreme personal risks for other individuals and as a parent or friend. It fights for fundamental and basic human rights, corrects faulty logic, and comes up with new solutions to avoid crisis and conflict.

Though inherently skeptical, it will not stand in the way of progress. It strives to keep what is new from tearing the sacred fabric of society, only advocating for change that happens at a reasonable pace. In a dire emergency however, it snaps into action, infinitely faster than the mind, and remains strangely calm as danger unfolds. It provides a centered and reassuring voice while taking instinctive action at lightning speed.

With an abundance of experience, it is skilled at avoiding violence, preferring tact and the pen to the sword. Even as it adapts to the future, the Spleen still cherishes history and watches it pass with a mixture of regret and inspired hope. It honors people by updating its methods to provide solutions for the new kinds of people in each generation. Having seen so much, it can be skeptical of solutions that seem too easy or sensational but is willing to be won over by evidence. It is not naive and is aware of the irony that nature discovers solutions through mutation and then constantly selects for more functional alternatives through new errors in the transmission of the genetic code.
