The Ego Center - brief
The Ego Center is the seat of human Willpower, and when speaking of ourselves, we use the first person singular: “I.” The Ego Center asserts its Will and exercises its formative power to change the world, for better or worse.
Through Fate, the Ego remains a critical part of our personal identity, action and initiative. The Ego Center contains a full spectrum of individual motivations, from the most noble and admirable qualities, to a dark side that most people don’t want to admit.
Instinctively, the Ego Center supports itself, and those closest to it. In its current position within the Nine Centered Body-graph, it is under constant pressure from the Solar Plexus to evolve and to improve its communication skills. In today’s world, when the Ego speaks in its raw and unvarnished form, it can receive brutal blowback from the social organism.
The Ego Center is under pressure from the Spleen “to do well” and from the Solar Plexus to distribute its resources to people in need. These conflicting pressures flooding into the Ego Center are very real and can only be solved within the Will itself. It’s easy to judge. These conflicts eventually lead to the awakening of the human conscience, or not.
The Ego is horribly insecure, feeling like it never has enough, regardless of how much it has. As the conscience wakes up, it is plagued not only by its own guilt but by a very real conflict of Will, to say nothing of its disintegrating public image – real or imagined.
In the midst of this struggle, the Ego Center filters out nearly all information and the very beauty of life itself since it can interrupt its narrow focus on self-preservation. This filtering is automatic, and we can end up living in its bubble. It fears losing its grip, holding its ground in order to live to fight another day. It rattles its own cage and rationalizes its fears, only to be crushed by humiliation. At its core, the Ego Center does not know how to behave or how to ask for the help it clearly needs.
Eventually, and frankly out of desperation, the Ego turns to the G-Center for guidance and receives initiation. The shift of perspective the Ego experiences as it enters the world of the G-Center is astounding – something it could never have imagined. Still in shock, it awakens to Higher Principles and goes on a breathtaking journey of re-education to commit to the implications of these newly discovered principles.
This is the hero’s journey, where the Ego Center learns to follow its deepest convictions. As we progress, we will see this path is clearly outlined in the body-graph. The Ego transforms through a process born in humiliation but achieved through valor, as it becomes the unlikeliest of heroes. This is perhaps the hardest-won of all victories.
The Ego Center is the only Center that has two names. Its transformative journey moves the Ego to embody the Heart and all of its finer implications – to the best of its ability. The allyship of the Ego with the G-Center is of inexpressible importance to the evolution of society, as the Heart Center becomes a reformer of the very institutions it used to embody.

*Allyship refers to the practice of individuals or groups actively supporting and advocating for marginalized or oppressed communities, with a focus on promoting equality and justice.
Allyship involves recognizing and using one’s privilege to help those who face systemic discrimination and oppression. It’s a commitment to understanding, empathizing, and taking meaningful actions to support the rights and well-being of others, often by listening, learning, and standing in solidarity with those facing injustice.
