Assignments for Class 4
Your homework this week is to delve into the steps of Authority Determination to verify that you understand why you have the Authority you do. By this point, you know that Mental Projectors and Reflectors have their own special form of Authority. For those with “outer authority,” contemplate how you engage with others and discern what feels right and true for you from interacting with others, and especially from what you feel from listening to yourself speak.
For Inner Authority Determination, your Authority Center is the Center that you have Defined (colored in) that is furthest down the following list:
- G-Center
- Ego
- Spleen
- Sacral Center
- Solar Plexus
If you have Inner Authority, please reread the Center Brief pertaining to your Authority Center and then reflect on “the point list” for that Center, for inspiration and its implications for your personal experience. This time, please realize that you are reading about the most important Center in your Design, especially because it is intimately involved with Decision Making. Reflect on this Center’s mode of operation, its priorities, and qualities.
Wild Mind Writing Sessions:
Next, engage in two 10-minute wild-mind-writing sessions about your Authority Process, setting a timer for each session.
Following these initial sessions, please write for two additional sessions.
1. First, compose a letter addressing your Authority Process as a friend and ally through the wild mind writing technique. Express your feelings, reactions, and reflections. You can ask questions or even berate your Authority Process for not coming to your rescue in certain situations. Remember, any reaction or even provocation is open territory for you to go in for a deep dive.
2. Secondly, please craft a letter from your Authority Process addressing you directly. Don’t edit it or try to make it sound in any particular way. Be ready, as always, with wild mind writing, to be surprised. Once again, keep it fluid and wild, letting your deep mind speak. As a reminder, during these exercises, maintain continuous movement of your pen or fingers on your keyboard, and simply record what comes up.
Please, limit each session to 10 minutes and just stop when the alert at the end sounds. Of course, do as many timed writing sessions as you want. You can take an idea, feeling, or reaction from any one of your sessions as a prompt to start another session. The 10-minute session results in a reading time of about 2 to 3 minutes.
Notes:
We are making every effort to learn Human Design from the living substance of your life – your memories, reflections, and seemingly random details of your own life. People who learn Human Design on a deep level – learn to relate to Human Design as an integrating force within the qualities of their lives and not as intellectual understanding.
Of course, we have a habit of wanting to “figure things out”, thinking “if we could only have such and such an answer, and breathe a sigh of relief.” That is not the way it actually works. Every time you tell a story, you are drawing those memories from your body chemistry. This is where the connections get made, in the chemistry, and where the relevance of what we are studying suddenly gets revealed. This may come as a surprise because of all of our book and school learning.
When sharing your experiences, provide as many details, sights, sounds, smells, and feelings as you can. Let all you have learned and your own feeling senses and the wisdom pour out of you because you are now listening. As you deepen your understanding, you will return to your stories and recognize your Design within them. In this way, you are learning Human Design through your life itself.
