The Sacral Center - brief
The Sacral Center connects directly with the life-force and represents its qualities through the very essence of your being. Its primary concern is the tenderness, consistency, and unquestioned integrity of life, which it embodies through its own behavior. The Strategy of the Sacral Center is to listen to its own response-messages and to follow their direction.
The Sacral is located in the pelvic area of your body, and communicates its preferences through a felt sense. It evaluates new possibilities through its responses: “ah-huh, Yes” or its deep “unh unh, No.” Both are experienced as an increasingly powerful felt-sense, a body-resonance – and as a drawing near to certain possibilities and pushing away from others. The Sacral Center can tend to remain focused on its present commitments and to reduce distractions, in order that its endeavors mature and bear fruit.
Additionally, the Sacral Center’s responses are filled with a subtle spectrum of tonal energy, full of meaning — related to commitments and living processes. With time and practice, the Sacral Center uncovers more nuanced information that sharpens its focus, selecting the strongest response even amidst a string of positive opportunities, or by pruning previous involvements.
When changes take place against a background of respect and full consent, the Sacral Center is on firm ground. However, if its boundaries are breached by neglect, violence, or abuse, the Sacral Center must do more than just say NO. In response to violation, it may need to withdraw inwardly and engage in a deep process of rebirth. Through this healing, the Sacral can discover significant resources and is likely to build powerful alliances for personal liberation, defense, and its intrinsic integrity.
