Awareness and Learning
Three Awareness Centers and the learning process:
These Awareness Centers are unique in the body-graph, and each forms an interface between your inner life and the outer world. They are keenly aware of who you are within your inner life, as well as the pressures and challenges you receive from the outside world. They process information from their own, specific and very different points of view, and collaborate inwardly to reach a higher synthesis and understanding.
Each Awareness Center holds to its own point of view, along the way, so you have the advantage of viewing the information you will be learning from these varied perspectives. We will be using the creative process to express your process of inner synthesis and self-discovery, in a safe and supportive environment, in this class.

The Spleen in the Learning Process:
At first, the Spleen Center is skeptical as it makes a critical comparison between what you are learning and what you have previously accepted as truth. It is concerned about what is healthy for you; the Spleen will cautiously accept new information through logic, rational evaluation, and critical reasoning. It compares what you are hearing to traditional values and tried-and-true methods of living over the centuries and reports its point of view in flashes of intuition. It will update its views based on evidence. The Spleen is studious, businesslike, and concentrated. It pursues learning with a solid work ethic and strives for organization. It protects you from being gullible and believing things that have no proof. There is no need to suppress this skepticism; it is healthy and valuable. It cares about you!

The Solar Plexus in the Learning Process:
The Solar Plexus will quickly connect your learning with life experiences and your relationships. It will try it on and test it out. It is imaginative and learns through emotional intelligence. It forms connections and explores them through a subjective, trial-and-error process to discover new ways of being. It wants to know if this new information will help deal with emotional ups and downs, the challenges, and the potential rewards for present relationships. The Solar Plexus trusts that it will discover errors along the way. It will remember what it is learning through its interactions, their successes and failures, and use these lessons to form new methods of problem-solving and conflict-resolution. It will often work in collaboration with others and reach new conclusions through conversation and consensus. In this way, it will acquire a deep-felt sense for our study, while building a new way of being. The Solar Plexus considers everything in terms of its developmental potential for a better future.

The Ajna Center in the Learning Process:
The Ajna represents what we normally think of as our mind. We rely upon it for consistency, mental stability, and an understanding of our surroundings and relationships. It is located on the Center Line of the body-graph, between the Spleen and the Solar Plexus, and it evaluates their radically different ways of learning and balances them, like watching a tennis match.
At first, the Ajna naturally aligns itself with the Spleen’s cautious logic. It holds on to its present version of the truth, even as it considers other possibilities. For a while, the Ajna Center might not seem to be learning much – or “getting it” – as the Solar Plexus would say. We can be anxious due to the pressure in previous learning situations. Patience is the key in allowing a deeper synthesis to take form.
Suddenly, the Ajna Center will do something truly magical. It will leap to an entirely new way of seeing reality. This change is truly dramatic because it involves our mind changing. Even though you cannot predict the timing of this transformation, you can count on it. Ironically, the Ajna will hold on to this astounding new worldview until the next mutative leap seems overdue.

Juxtaposition and Synergy:
The foregoing is a general discussion of how synergetic collaboration takes place between these Three Awareness Centers. As our study progresses, we will see that all of the Centers in the body-graph are arranged in juxtaposition, and how synergetic interaction gives birth to an extraordinary intelligence, which we will learn how to use through the specific structure of your own Design.
